MAD Leadership Foundation has showcased and featured both upcoming and well-known South African artists at our national and international fundraising events since our inception. Art has consistently been at the heart of our auctions, allowing MAD Leadership Foundation the opportunity to showcase creative talent, as well as to raise funds to invest in South Africa’s future leaders. We have worked hard over the years to establish unique art auction experiences nationally and internationally, for art enthusiasts with a passion for making a difference. MAD2ADVENTURES

Mad2Adventures for a cause (made up of MAD2Run and MAD2Cycle) are a group of ordinary South Africans using their feet for a great feat! This is a unique annual fundraising event, in which a group of selfless individuals epically run or cycle from Johannesburg to Cape Town (1520km in total) in just 7 days! It’s a 24-hour relay-style running adventure, all in support of MAD Leadership Foundation. Their aim is to make a small difference to a few individuals – who will, in turn, make a big difference in their communities.

Annually, MAD Leadership Foundation hosts golf days at some of the world’s most prestigious golf clubs in South Africa, as well as in the USA and UK. Each year, we are overwhelmed by the support and generosity we receive from those who are dedicated to contributing towards education in South Africa. We are deeply grateful to all our dedicated players, partners, sponsors and donors for the auction items provided for each golf day. Thank you for pledging to make a difference.

SUPPORT A FUNDRAISER

We are extremely thankful for the admirable support of the following individuals, who are as passionate as we are about developing leaders in South Africa through education. These individuals started fundraising initiatives independently of MAD Leadership Foundation, giving up their personal time to raise funds for what we do. It is because of individuals such as these that we can continue to raise sustainable funds and awareness for MAD Leadership Foundation through innovative means.

MAD4WAVES

MAD4Waves are a crew of four friends, who are coming together to battle one of the toughest challenges on Earth: Rowing 5500 km across the Atlantic Ocean. Cole, Grant, Lee and Matthew all attended school at Bishops Diocesan College and are currently in their third year of studies at the University of Cape Town.Further driving their passion for rowing across the Atlantic, is the desire to make a difference in the world. The boys have partnered with MAD Leadership Foundation and will be raising funds in an effort to help transform the youth of South Africa into the future leaders of tomorrow.

The Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge is the world’s No.1 ocean enduro-race and is widely considered to be one of the hardest challenges on the planet: Racing across the Atlantic Ocean in nothing but a rowing boat. The race begins at the head of Africa in the Canary Islands and finishes in the Caribbean, a distance of approximately 5 500 km. MAD4Waves will be competing in the fours category in 2018 with the goal of not only completing the gruelling race but also winning. The range of time that it takes for a four to complete the race is anywhere between 37 and 67 days. MAD4Waves will row in pairs- two hours on, two hours off, non-stop for the duration of the race.

THE AFRASIA BANK CAPE WINE AUCTION

The AfrAsia Bank Cape Wine Auction is an exhilarating global showcase of South Africa’s finest wine and provides an opportunity to purchase one-of-a-kind experiences. They include rare wines, exceptional private homes, supremely talented chefs and winemakers, and access to the inner sanctum of the South African wine industry.

The primary mission of the AfrAsia Bank Cape Wine Auction is to raise funds to support education in the South African winelands. To date, in excess of R7 million has been raised for charity. MAD Leadership Foundation is privileged to be associated with this esteemed event, as a beneficiary of the substantial funds raised.

ISPS HANDA ART OF POLO INVITATIONAL

Inspired by Japanese philanthropist Dr Handa’s three loves – art, music and polo, the ISPS Handa Art of Polo Invitational was the first of its kind in Africa. This black-tie sunset polo event was held at SA’s premier polo venue, Val De Vie Estate, on Saturday 22nd April 2017. Bringing together leaders in business, sports and the arts, the inaugural ISPS Handa Art of Polo Invitational was a networking celebration.

MAD Leadership Foundation’s art auction completed the art component of this prestigious event. Five sensational pieces from Lionel Smit, John Vusi Mfupi, Mbongeni Buthelezi and Adriaan Diedericks were available on live auction at the event with an additional fifteen pieces on silent auction. This collaboration could not have been between two more like-minded entities.

Proceeds of both the live and silent auctions contributed towards funding the scholarships provided by MAD Leadership Foundation.
